America faces serious barriers to a functioning democracy.

At a time of historically high inequality, unnecessary wars, corporate capture, voter suppression, the breakdown of labor law, and unaccountable government institutions, we need to mobilize the public to make structural change for the common good.

Rebuild Democracy works to dismantle the corruption that undermines democracy, environmental stewardship, and economic security in the United States.  We advance this work by:

Supporting candidates and important reforms
Leading research and advocacy on public policy and messaging
Developing future talent to staff public institutions

Despite the country’s profound historic injustices, earlier generations of Americans were able to make progress in vitally important areas: Building and maintaining democratic institutions that countered corruption, reduced poverty and inequality, advanced civil rights and liberties, safeguarded environmental quality, and supported common national interests.

In recent decades, much of this progress has ceased or gone into reverse. We seek to rebuild — and improve — these vital safeguards for the public good.

Our team includes veteran policymakers and expert practitioners in economics, foreign affairs, and communications. We draw on an extensive network of partners from across sectors and areas of policy making, research, and public advocacy.
